Agricultural Carbon Emissions Embodied in China’s Foreign Trade and Its Driving Factors

چکیده
Since the development of global trade, involvement agriculture in globalization has been increasing. Globalization and trade have led to separation production consumption, triggering a worldwide relocation agricultural carbon emissions (ACE). By linking ACE database multi-regional input-output (MRIO) model, this paper calculates embodied China’s foreign trade. Moreover, by using Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) decomposition method, it analyzes impacts intensity, scale, industrial structure, economic consumption levels, population on ACE. We found that impact is gradually China shifted from net exporter (the export volume 1961 was 13.52 million tons) importer import 2016 40.35 tons). investigating underlying mechanisms, we dominant factor inhibitory effect decline intensity China, contributing 73% increase volume, followed expansion proportion output value GDP, with contribution rates 17 10%, respectively.

Changes in agricultural carbon emissions and factors that influence agricultural carbon emissions based on different stages in Xinjiang, China
Xinjiang's agricultural carbon emissions showed three stages of change, i.e., continued to rise, declined and continued to rise, during 1991-2014. The agriculture belonged to the "low emissions and high efficiency" agriculture category, with a lower agricultural carbon emission intensity. By using the logarithmic mean divisia index decomposition method, agricultural carbon emissions were decomp...
متن کاملWill Economic Restructuring in China Reduce Trade-Embodied CO2 Emissions?
We calculate CO2 emissions embodied in China’s net exports using a multi-regional input-output database. We find that the majority of China’s export-embodied CO2 is associated with production of machinery and equipment rather than energy-intensive products, such as steel and aluminum. In 2007, the largest net recipients of embodied CO2 emissions from China include the EU (360 million metric ton...
متن کاملExamining drivers of the emissions embodied in trade
Emissions embodied in provincial trade (EEPT) have important effects on provinces' responsibilities for carbon emission reductions. Based on a multi-regional input-output model, we calculated EEPT for China's 30 provinces in 2002, 2007 and 2010, and we attempted to determine the drivers of EEPT. The results showed that, during this period, the ratio of EEPT to production-based emissions increas...
متن کاملEnergy and air emissions embodied in China-U.S. trade: eastbound assessment using adjusted bilateral trade data.
It is critical to understand environmental impacts embodied in the bilateral trade between China and the United States, given the political, economic, and geographical importance of the two countries and the fact that few studies have investigated this before. This article studies the environmental impacts, particularly energy consumption and air emissions, embodied in the eastbound (from China...
متن کاملClimate trade-off between black carbon and carbon dioxide emissions
There are various difficulties involved with comparing the effects of short-lived and long-lived atmospheric species on climate. Global warming potentials (GWPs) can be computed for pulse emissions of short-lived species. However, if the focus is on the long-term effect of a pulse emission occurring today, GWPs do not factor in the fact that if a radiative forcing is applied for a short period,...
